I go cool places. Occasionally I document them with pictures. I swear a lot. (Sorry, Mom.)

Fort Worth = Beer + family →

August 24, 2014

I flew to Fort Worth this summer to help my sister pack up and prepare for her move from Texas to New York City. People accumulate an impressive amount of stuff when they live in the same place for more than a year; it seems this is particularly true of people who live in Texas. I made one demand to break up the packing: that we make a pilgrimage to weekend stalwart Martin House to sample some Texas beer, play some goat ring, eat some tipsy BBQ, and take in the killer live tunes. She did not disappoint me.

I was supposed to be photographing the beer, for the most part, but my sister is pretty compelling material (those eyes, you know). Fort Worth is a sweet town—heartfelt, earth-bound, down-home Texas. She was sad to leave it. I'm just glad I got to see Fort Worth through her eyes.

If you visit, hit up Martin House. For real. Goat ring is a harder game than it seems.
